Radical Left Takes the Senate. America BURNS.
THE MIDTERMS WERE OUR VERSION OF BURNING IT DOWN
Look at Europe. Look at our fellow democracies of the Western world. France is burning. Britain is burning. Belgium, Spain, take your pick.
The people doing the burning over there are the equivalent of the Democratic Party over here. The only difference? To take down America, you don’t need to burn anything. You can do it at the ballot box.
What we had in the midterms was our version of burning down America. It’s as simple as that.
The Democratic Party is being taken over by avowed Marxists. Avowed socialists. People whose charter is to destroy the United States as we know it. Get rid of the Senate. Get rid of the Electoral College. Gut the presidency and have everything run by Congress, which means run by them.
They openly say capitalism is evil and socialism is good. It’s the exact opposite of the truth. Socialism and communism killed more people in one century than any other doctrine in human history. And what do Americans learn from that? Nothing. That’s why young people vote Democrat in overwhelming numbers. They have no idea what those doctrines have done, because nobody taught them.
Now look at what Donald Trump accomplished. With all his many flaws, look at what he got done.
You want to talk about inflation? The Biden administration printed money like nobody in American history. The staggering inflation started there. Yes, prices kept rising under Trump, but at a much lower rate. Nobody talks about that. So when people talk about “affordability,” whether it’s eggs or apartments, that’s a big part of the story.
Want another factor in the price of housing? Millions of illegal immigrants let into the country. More demand, same supply, higher prices. It’s the simplest rule in economics.
Trump shut the border in the first week. Just shut it. For decades, Democrats told us, “Oh, we’re for immigration reform, but it’s so complex, and the Republicans won’t sit down with us.” Complex? Trump simply closed it. That alone was an enormous good for this country.
But people don’t vote on that. They vote on “How much are the eggs, darling?” I watched the Democratic ads. “Oh no, we have to put the bananas back, we can’t afford bananas and eggs.” Meanwhile we are doing better than virtually any Western country on Earth.
Trump signed an executive order: schools that put biological males in girls’ sports don’t get federal funding. The Democratic Party is on record, overwhelmingly, in favor of boys playing girls’ sports. So let me ask those of you who voted Democrat: is the price of bananas more important than your daughters?
He set back Iran’s nuclear program. And now I hear, “We voted Democrat because we’re against the war with Iran.” What war? We bombed their nuclear sites and squeezed their economy. There are no boots on the ground. And Iran is the most dangerous place in the world today. If they get a nuclear weapon, every country in the Middle East will race to get one. Trump isn’t starting a war. He’s preventing a nuclear one.
And this isolationism that’s become so fashionable? It turns “America First” into “America Only.” That’s not what America First means. America First means America comes first. It doesn’t mean America hides.
We are the most powerful country in the world, thank God. And here’s a very simple question for everyone who hates that: if we’re not the greatest power in the world, who would you like it to be? China? Russia? Iran? There will always be a dominant power. That’s how the world works. If it’s not us, it’s going to be some really bad people, and the whole world will suffer. All of you who love peace and love should think about that.
Maduro is gone from Venezuela, in a virtually bloodless operation. This horrible man, along with Chavez before him, took the richest country in South America and made it one of the poorest. Stripped people of their liberties. Pumped drugs into the United States. Getting rid of him was a great good.
The dollar is still the world’s reserve currency. Why? Because we’re the most powerful country, and because our economy is still better than almost any other Western nation’s.
Gas prices in 2022 were higher than they are today. But the media didn’t harp on it then, because Biden was president.
And despite all of that, around 71% of 18-to-29-year-olds voted Democrat in the House races. Three quarters of young Americans. They don’t know what a danger the Democrats are, because they don’t know history, because they went to an American public school and an American university.
Texas turned blue. Texas. It’s unbelievable. And it was largely the Hispanic vote: the vote that was so good for Trump, and now it’s gone.
And I’ll tell you what did it. It wasn’t Iran. Hispanics weren’t consumed with Iran. It was ICE. It was the messaging around deportation.
It started out clear: we’re deporting the criminals, the bad guys. And then the messaging just got lost. It stayed in this state of fear. If you’re Hispanic, even if you’re here completely legally, you were terrified for your family and your friends. These are people who voted Democrat their entire lives, took a chance on Trump, and believed he’d keep talking to them. Instead, the administration went quiet and hoped the fear would go away. It never went away. They felt deserted, and honestly, I understand why. The ICE messaging was a bigger mistake than anything to do with Iran, and almost nobody’s talking about it.
And did Iran play a role overall? It contributed. What was needed was someone making the American case for it, over and over, clearly. Marco Rubio did that. JD Vance never defended the bombing of that horrible regime. If you don’t stop tyranny at the beginning, you pay a much bigger price later. People love “buy now, pay later.” That’s fine for Amazon. It’s not fine for good and evil. Trump has been saying for 30, 40 years, on camera, that we cannot let Iran have nuclear weapons. He was courageous enough to act on it. And the left, as always, doesn’t fight evil. It fights the people who fight evil.
California apparently voted down voter ID. Do we not look ridiculous? You need ID to do anything in this country. Board a plane. Buy cold medicine. Open a bank account. What is the big deal?
Years ago, Ami Horowitz went to Harlem and asked Black people on the street if they knew how to get an ID. They laughed at him. It was almost insulting. They didn’t just know how. They told him the address of the DMV. Saying voter ID is racist is what’s actually racist. It’s demeaning to Black Americans. It’s saying, “You’re not bright enough to get an ID.”
At least California’s billionaire tax looks like it’s going down. Maybe people finally figured out that all a billionaire tax does is make billionaires leave the state. But 44% of Californians voted for it. Almost half. I’d love to know who they were. We are a divided country.
But the worst:
Abdul El-Sayed is now a United States senator. The man combines the two worst ideologies of our time: Islamism and communism. He campaigned with Hasan Piker, the man who said America deserved 9/11.
And when a terrorist drove a car full of explosives into a synagogue in Michigan, what did El-Sayed say? “Hurt people hurt people.” Poor guy. His family, associated with terrorist Hezbollah, got killed in Lebanon, so naturally he goes to kill Jews in America. That’s the thinking. And now that thinking has a vote in the U.S. Senate.
We’re going to have some really bad people in Congress now. And the biggest question is: will they take over? Will they infect the Democratic Party, or will the Democratic Party expel them?
Right now, they’re infecting it. The party isn’t doing anything to stop them. Instead you get this hilarious line about the “big tent.” No. William F. Buckley drove the John Birch Society out of the conservative movement. He called out anti-Semitism on his own side. He didn’t believe in an infinitely big tent. And the Democrats’ big tent is a lie anyway. Is there room in it for pro-life people? Of course not.
I can’t wrap my head around Michigan, middle America, electing a man this anti-American, this anti-Western, this hostile to Judeo-Christian values.
Now, let me say this, because it’s true: there are wonderful Muslims. But the Islamic world, at this point in history, is largely driven by Islamism. Not just the Quran and the Hadith, but the dominant reading of them. And that reading wants to take over where it lives. They want to take over Europe. They have a fighting chance in the UK. They’d like to do it here. And the left is helping them. These people are true believers, and true believers can’t be talked out of anything. We have a big problem on our hands.
And here’s the result that bothers me most: millions of conservative Christians simply did not vote. I’d love to ask them why. Do you think God is going to fix everything for you? How can you not at least vote for good over bad? If every evangelical in this country had voted, these results would look completely different.
And Trump? His approval rating went low. His family’s crypto dealings didn’t help. When your father is president, you shouldn’t look like Biden’s kids did. But it’s bigger than that. Americans gave Trump Superman status, and frankly, he gave it to himself. So when Superman doesn’t produce something great every single week, people get disappointed. If he’d kept his popularity, these results would have been different.
But it ain’t over, folks.
The party that holds the presidency almost always loses Congress in the midterms. It’s practically an American tradition. Two years is a long time in politics. We’ll see.
And you’re not allowed to despair. Despair is a sin. It’s a moral obligation to fight.
So don’t despair. But don’t fool yourself, either. It was a bad day.
There’s a legend that King Solomon asked his wise men for a ring that would lift him up when he was down, and bring him back to earth when he got too high. They gave him a ring with three Hebrew words that translate to: This too shall pass.
Remember that. The American spirit lives in hundreds of millions of Americans. There’s no guarantee. But this too shall pass.
