I want to discuss why Minnesota is a hot mess right now, unlike most other states.

In sane jurisdictions, when an illegal immigrant gets arrested, local cops hand them over to ICE or Border Patrol for deportation. Simple. Efficient. Safe.

Not in Minnesota. Politicians like Tim Walz and Jacob Frey have basically issued a “hands-off” memo: Don’t cooperate. Don’t turn them over. Just release them back into the wild, murderers, rapists, doesn’t matter. Giving them over to ICE is cruelty, who cares if they offenders repeat.

Take the fresh case in Minneapolis: An illegal alien, no valid license, no insurance, plows through a mother in back-to-back drunk-driving crashes—kills her, maims two others. Charged with vehicular homicide. ICE slaps a detainer. Minneapolis says, “Nah,” and cuts him loose. Now ICE has to play hide-and-seek in the streets instead of picking him up at the jail. Who doest his benefit??

Then, after releasing these criminals, not abuela cleaning your house, but actual violent thugs they paint ICE as Gestapo goons randomly scooping people up. Wrong. They’re serving specific arrest warrants on known individuals. Sure, Stephen Miller pushed for location-based sweeps to hit quotas—ambitious, maybe overzealous—but the root cause is local non-cooperation forcing street-level ops.

Why no similar chaos under Obama, who deported way more? Easy: Back then, Democrats still admitted nations have a right to borders. Obama himself said the 11 million who broke immigration laws should face consequences—no matter how “decent” they are. The party hadn’t gone full open-border zealot yet. That shift happened about 15 years ago.

Tom Homan keeps saying it: ICE and Border Patrol hate street work—it’s dangerous. hiding their identities? Because activists dox them, stalk them to hotels, block their cars, interfere with arrests, even get physical. These agents aren’t itching for confrontation; Minnesota’s “leadership” if you can call it that, is shoving them into it.

Walz, Frey, and crew are so anti-ICE they’d rather unleash killers than let them sit in jail long enough for pickup. Last year alone, they released something like 470 criminal illegal aliens—convicted of real crimes, not just crossing the border—straight back to the streets so ICE couldn’t round them up easily. That’s not compassion; that’s playing roulette with public safety, and those who pay are the locals so that they can remain ideologically pure.

Then they crank the rhetoric to 11, calling ICE and Border Patrol “Gestapo” and “Nazis.” No wonder left-wing activists like Alex Pretti and Renée Good get radicalized in that echo chamber, foaming with rage. Pretti’s on video two weeks before his death, kicking a Border Patrol car, losing it completely—gun on his waistband, no less. Every responsible gun owner knows: You don’t pick fights with law enforcement while armed. Tragic he and Good died? Maybe. But they’re casualties of the hysteria Minnesota’s own leaders are stoking. They are NPC’s, drone bees sent out to sting ICE officers, and making it impossible for them to do their jobs.

Bottom line: None of this drama happens if Minneapolis and the state just did the basics—honor ICE detainers and cooperate. Hand over the criminals in custody. Problem solved. Instead, they choose chaos. And surprise: Chaos ensues. Who could’ve predicted? They could. They want the martyr. They need their new George Floyd. That’s why they prettied Pretti. It’s a game of smash mouth politics for them, and they want to retain power at all cost, and they don’t care if Javier the murderer they just released kills your parents , they want to win power and free themselves of the spotlight of all the fraud they are responsible for.
