Now, for a sane person, this would make him rethink his position. “I am giving cover to murderers that don’t share my value system”—kind of like welcoming all snakes into your house, and then a cobra goes and attacks your kids. Maybe, at minimum, you would want to be discerning about the snakes you bring in.

He is the sheep that yells “Free the wolves” because it’s “cruel” to fence them out.

And then, seeing his flock attacked, mocks those complaining that he wants to knock down the barrier.
