People who can afford to leave california are starting the exodus.
Same happened in France under Hollande: the socialist guy regulated everything into oblivion, and – oh the shocker – businesses and the rich started leaving, and the economy started falling apart. People, who previously heavily supported the reforms, now said, “Wait a moment… This isn’t what we had in mind!” Doesn’t matter what you have in mind; this is what you get when you stomp on basic economical freedoms “for the greater good”.
There is a reason Microsoft appeared in the US and not in the Soviet Union: world-changing businesses emerge where people are allowed to peacefully cooperate and exchange ideas, not where bureaucrats with books in one hand and handcuffs in another tell people what to do.
California so far has been riding its past success, from back when it was still a relatively free state – but now the time is catching up with it. It’ll only be going downhill from here, unless people stop constantly voting in various regulators.
