Italian Jeweler Kills Violent Thieves … What Happened Next? …

by | July 25, 2026

“Mario Roggero defended his wife and daughter from armed robbers — and got 14 years in prison for it. Now the dead criminals’ families are suing him for damages.”

We harken back to the old country, Italia, where poor Mario Roggero — a 72-year-old jeweler minding his own business in Grinzane Cavour — watches three animals burst into his shop on April 28, 2021. They put a gun to his wife’s head, a knife to his daughter’s throat, and beat the holy hell out of the family. Same family that had already survived a brutal robbery in 2015. Mario finally snaps, grabs his legally owned gun, and does what any man with a spine and functioning testosterone would do: he lights them up. Two dead, both with rap sheets longer than their arms, one wounded and whimpering.

Justice served, right?

Wrong.

The Italian courts, in all their infinite wisdom, squinted at the video and declared: “Sorry Mario, once they turned to run with your jewels, the threat was ‘over.’ Continuing to shoot is not self-defense — that’s murder, you barbarian.” Seventeen years in the first trial, mercifully reduced to 14 years and 9 months on appeal.

Now the old man rots in prison while the dead robbers’ families successfully sue him for damages. Because in modern Europe, if you make the predators’ day slightly unpleasant, you owe them money.

This is the system we’ve built, folks. Criminals get to play violent home-invasion roulette, and the second they start fleeing with your life’s work they flip on the magical “protected species” switch. “He’s running away! Stand down immediately, citizen! Anything else would be disproportionate!” Meanwhile, the rest of us are supposed to nod politely like good little serfs and accept that the incentive structure is working perfectly: come terrorize a family, steal decades of sweat equity, and if you get lightly ventilated on your way out the door, the state will still crucify the shopkeeper for you, so you will Have your vengeance.

Fuck that backward circus. Let’s drop this pathetic modern Western justice system and go full Wild West. You ride in, put steel to my wife and child, steal my horses — or today’s equivalent: my car I use to Uber, my iPhone — you get turned into Swiss cheese and the buzzards get a complimentary lunch.

No lawyers. No sob stories about how you were “fleeing.” You attack decent people, you die like a dog in the street. Simple. Clean. Effective.Modern societies have decided the productive citizen is the real danger and the parasite with the knife is sacred. We don’t need more laws. We need fewer cowards writing them.Mario Roggero is sitting in a cell right now because he refused to be a polite victim. A pox on the spineless bureaucrats, activist judges, and socialist overlords who put him there — may they one day face the same animals they’ve spent decades protecting, with nothing but their limp “proportionality” rules to defend them.

“You can’t judge a person by his worst day” — that’s the reasoning Governor Tim Walz used to justify pardoning a child sex offender, raising serious questions about where compassion ends and dangerous leniency begins.
